Prof Mark Goodfield

Dermatology

Former President of the British Association of Dermatologists.

Mark practices in general dermatology with an interest in the diagnosis and management of systemic diseases, skin cancer and paediatric dermatology.

He works closely with other disciplines in clinical and laboratory research in these areas.

He is also a Cofounder of the Surrey Orthopaedic Clinic.

Elected as Chairman of Medicine at St Mark’s in 2007 and appointed Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee at The Clementine Churchill Hospital in 2010 for five years.

 

As the Concertmaster for the European Doctors Orchestra, Max is also an accomplished violinist.

Mark Emerton

Chief Medical Officer

Mark is an orthopaedic surgeon in Leeds. As clinical director he established the elective orthopaedic unit in Leeds and subsequently held national roles at the NHS Institute in both quality improvement and patient safety.

He is passionate about improving access for patients and the quality and value of elective services.

David is a consultant trauma & orthopaedic surgeon with over 25 years of experience and one of the country’s leading trauma surgeons.

He is currently Deputy Medical Director at Ashford and St. Peter’s NHS Foundation Trust. Previously Deputy Divisional Director of Trauma & Orthopaedic.

Paul Montgomery

Paul is a consultant ENT surgeon.

He has won a number of awards and prizes for his contribution to the field of ENT, such as the Silver National Clinical Excellence Award from the NHS, the British Medical Association ENT Book Prize, the Cutler’s Surgical Prize by the City of London and The George Davey Howells Memorial Prize from the University of London.

Non-Executive Director

Gary Bolger has considerable experience in both the private and public sector of healthcare. He worked in the NHS for 17 years and a year in general practice before moving into Public Health Medicine. He was a consultant in public health for over 8 years in Berkshire. Before joining HBSUK, Gary was Chief Medical Officer at AXA Health.

Prof Daniel Blackman

Cardiology

Daniel is a consultant cardiologist. He is the highest volume operator in coronary intervention in Leeds.

Daniel is leading the Leeds Programme in valvular intervention. He also has a broad interest in all areas of general cardiology including chest pain, palpitation, hypertension and arrhythmias.

Clinical Lead for Patient Information and Consent

Mike is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon at the Liverpool University Hospitals and an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Manchester.

Mike is also President of the UK Biological knee Society and a member of the National Ligament Registry Steering Committee.

Dr Ilan Lieberman

Anaesthesia & Pain

Dr Lieberman was appointed as a Consultant in Pain Medicine and Anaesthesia in 2001, training in London and the North West of England. His NHS base is University Hospitals of South Manchester, and he worked as the clinical lead of the Multi-disciplinary Chronic Pain Service from 2003-2014. He is now the Clinical Director for Strategic Integration for South Manchester.

Currently the senior consultant breast surgeon at the Royal Cornwall Hospital Truro. Philip has published several books and over 100 scientific articles and is regularly invited to lecture nationally and internationally. He is also a council member of the Association of Breast Surgery and an internationally renowned expert witness.

Plastic Surgery

Simon is a Former President and council member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons, as well as a former President and council member for the British Society for Surgery of the Hand. Simon is an editor of an award winning text book and the current editor of the Oxford Textbook of Plastic Surgery.

Urology

Andy has developed several new products for the treatment of prostate disease as well as being the founder of Prostate Cymru Charity. He has led several public health campaigns for prostate disease and fundraises over £500,000 annually for the charity. He is an internationally recognised lecturer in modern prostate cancer treatment and therapy.

Experienced in all aspects of rheumatology, Jeremy has a particular interest in sports medicine, soft tissue injuries and rehabilitation medicine.

Jeremy has experience in research and has written articles for physiotherapy journals and for the British Journal of Rheumatology.

Colorectal

Lead for Colorectal & Anal Cancer in St. Mark’s Hospital and London Northwest Hospitals NHS Trust and lead for the St. Mark's Complex Cancer Clinic.

Ian is on the United European Gastroenterology (UEG) Scientific Committee and was Honorary Secretary of the Royal Society of Medicine Coloproctology Section 2017-2018.

Prof Bernie Chang

Ophthalmology

Bernard is the President of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He has been a Consultant Ophthalmologist for 17 years. He is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Leeds. Bernard works with NHSE on the National Outpatients Transformation Programme and was clinical lead on the CRG for the National Artificial Eyes Service until 2019.
