Garry joined HBSUK in 2023 as our CEO.
Garry has held various positions in Products and Technology in Healthcare and has experience in a number of roles including CEO, COO and CPO.
Michael Monk
Chief Finance Officer
Michael is a Chartered Accountant and joined as our CFO in 2020. Having trained with accounting firm BDO, Michael has held several senior finance roles across a broad range of sectors.
Michael oversees our Finance, HR, MI and Quality Assurance.
Lucy Pittaway
Operations Director
Lucy has held various Operational Management positions across Acute NHS Trusts managing elective, non-elective and emergency services.
Lucy has a passion for transformation and uses this to drive operational excellence across the business.
Dr Gary Bolger
Non-Executive Director
Gary Bolger has considerable experience in both the private and public sector of healthcare. He worked in the NHS for 17 years and a year in general practice before moving into Public Health Medicine. He was a consultant in public health for over 8 years in Berkshire. Before joining HBSUK, Gary was Chief Medical Officer at AXA Health.
Charles Byrne
Managing Director
A natural relationship builder, Charles leads HBSUK Sales. With a big business background in Manufacturing and MBA qualified, Charles has a wealth and depth of skills he brings to the HBSUK Leadership team.
Charles is also sadly a Liverpool supporter.
Mark Emerton
Chief Medical Officer
Mark is an orthopaedic surgeon in Leeds. As clinical director he established the elective orthopaedic unit in Leeds and subsequently held national roles at the NHS Institute in both quality improvement and patient safety.
He is passionate about improving access for patients and the quality and value of elective services.
Lucy Cassidy
Director of Products and Services
Lucy, a Clinical Specialist and the architect of the well-known Brighton and Sussex Virtual Fracture Clinics, is our MSK transformational lead. Lucy has been pivotal in developing the HBSUK Digital Triage Platform - Virtual Lucy™.
Lucy is one of our ‘healthcare disruptors’ through innovation.
Prof Stephen Smith
Non-Executive Director
Originally a clinician scientist with a Chair in Cambridge, became dean of Medicine at Imperial College and created Academic Health Science Centres in the UK, becoming CEO of Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.
Founding Dean of new Medical School in Singapore.
Steve provides international advice on health reform.
Mark Fountain
Executive Chairman
The HBSUK Founder and new ideas guru, Mark drives business excellence in the company. Mark held various CEO, COO and Hospital Director roles in domestic and International Private Healthcare businesses before founding Healthcare Business Solutions (UK) in 2012.
